I don’t remember if it was 2019 or 2018. I sold 5k every Monday morning every week in June and July. I believe I ended up at 4.08 futures price average on 40k bushels
Closer to harvest, futures price was right at 4.08. I dumped everything I had left unpriced. So I’ve used seasonals too
Forward contracting has been a tremendous advantage since 2012
Yes on corn, actually except ‘10 and ‘12. Having every bushel sold during the seasonal high part of the year before harvest has been a money maker. In fringes areas like im in It’s tough to do. Unless you sell it on the board and are in position to potentially make some margin call payments |
