Yes that's ideal but in the interest of pulling a new planter with an older tractor it wouldn't be hard to put a generator on the pto instead of hanging a hyd pump on the pto to turn around and use that oil to drive the generator.
I'm sure tractors with on board generators for running electric equipment are coming.
