Actually, gasoline engines are more reliable now than 40-50 yrs ago. The gas engines in pickups can go 200K+ mis easily. Usually will go further than the body.

That wasn't true with a 283, 327 Chevy, 305 GMC, 292 Chevy, 390 Ford, 318/360/383 Chrysler. 100K mis & it was time for an overhaul.
