My first "real" computer was an IBM PCAT clone and I believe it was an 80286 processor probably around the same speed. 20 meg hard drive. Downloaded games for the kids at 300 baud dial up long distance rates. Got a 1200 baud modem and that was a huge upgrade. Got the computer because we had been doing cash flow projections on yellow legal pad. What an improvement when we went to a spreadsheet. Then I got into building and selling them and doing consulting for businesses, mostly during the winter. DOS 2 and 3. Put food on the table when farming was a real struggle through the 80's. That and cutting and selling fire wood. We made it through the 80's but just barely. My how times have changed. John
