SCIA | Part of the problem is the packaging. Five and ten gallon packages, for restaurants, verses 1 gallon and smaller for home use. I would guess, with the "no eating out", from shelter at home, whether it is called that or not, the processors are over ran with "dispenser" sized packaging and not able to get enough "family/retail" sized packaging, due to "just in time" supply management.
Hence, they are unable to put the product in the correct packaging and end up over run with supply. And, of course, they are not willing to take the loss, so, they tell the producer to dump, hence passing the loss off to the producer. | |
