North central TX | Pouring cement pads to feed on in rings or the like would be the most 'fool proof'. Then you could come in every so often and push the area clean. Cheaper would be a gravel pad. Not as easy to clean but better to feed in than belly deep mud. It's been wet here this winter but we have a fairly solid red clay layer under our topsoil in a lot of areas that helps bear weight. Still gets nasty sloppy around bales but I just keep moving them around. Usually 10 yards or so away each time. I've had to feed on the hill or on top of a terrace since it started raining in November. It's been a struggle for sure. | |
