south central WI
I'm of the opposite view. It doesn't hurt to ask them. It is more dangerous now than normal. If she is asking and not demanding a raise, that's fair to me. I'm sure a lot of the staff feel the same way.

I'm a dairy farmer so a different field entirely. My employees asked about their pay last week. We will be discussing it this coming week. We need a plan on if we give them extra pay now due to them having increased exposure from coming to work (limited increased exposure). We also need a plan on if they get paid if they get sick. We cant really afford to pay people who aren't working, but I'm sure we can handle the lost money better than they can handle the lost wages. Milk markets have plunged lately, down a ton starting around the end of Jan. My thoughts are a couple bucks/hr bonus pay for a couple weeks and a weeks extra pay possibly. If they need to take 2 weeks off, they would still get half pay for 2 weeks. If they dont get sick they still get the weeks pay since they might have to cover extra shifts. I dont see why a hospital cant offer extra funds to keep employees safe and coming in versus having them quit and making others cover the shift.
