Southeast WI | How far into this journey are you on pushing yield? Have you identified limiting factors so far? And if you have, can they be economically corrected, or let's say we just throw economics out, what kind yield returns are you seeing when you "fix" a limiting factor? Is it a few bushels or is it like 10-15 bpa?
On the ground I run water is always a limiting factor and generally too little. We are in an area where the lake does affect storms as they travel east over the Mississippi River in the first half of summer for sure. On average we are ok on rain, but it's easy to miss a lot storms others get 30+ miles to the west and northwest. I've lived here my whole life and consulted in a 50 mi radius for 30 years and this is a real phenomenon. | |
