Subject: RE: pasture feedbunk manure catching question

Tablerock Ranch eastern Wa
Really common out here in our outside lots, they scrape large pens, say 1 acre and stockpile during the summer, later run it through a trammel if you have any large rocks. hauling 5 thousand tons back this spring from a neighbor that will need screened, going to try and run it through our conventional two deck screen but not holding my breath that it will work, if it doesn't I will rent a trammel. Wish I could pour an apron out there but it is way down the list of concrete pours, we are so far out concrete is an hour and forty minutes old when it gets here and brutally expensive so we bought a 10 yard Kenworth mixer truck and I will build a farmer style batch plant and batch our own this summer. This bunk in question will be a background grow yard for 500 or so head we will custom grow, question-- will calves deposit enough manure on the apron to make it worth while scaping and screening or will it all wind up out on the 350 acres ?
