SE IL | garvo - 3/14/2020 07:04 From a different perspective-Iowa- it must happen elsewhere, Talked to a friend that is a teacher-The teacher said that the biggest thing is the students that quietly get backpack's of food sent home with them, some of the students live some harsh family conditions, more so the teacher was worried that if schools shut down for more days those students would not have any food-seems the summer time they have other programs when school is out-I would think 2 week shut down would really hurt on that end. I don't think I have ever felt so humble last nite when the teacher told me some problems that this virus will cause-more so on family's like that. Starvation is real-farm family's not so much
Gary my wife works at local school. They are going to continue to cook meals for the disadvantaged and the bus drivers are going to deliver. They are working on a plan to put lessons online too. It’s going to be a work in progress. |
