Subject: RE: Who splits their planter with two hybrids?

NW IA
Had it some years ago with two hybrids that were very similar in yield when separated in blocks. When I split the planter the taller hybrid out did the shorter one significantly.

The dealer for the taller hybrid was running the weigh wagon and saw what had happened. He said his corn had an unfair advantage and he would not publish the split planter numbers. Was a wash when comparing results from checks where the 2 were planted some rows apart.

I still do split the planter if I am confident there will be little height difference between hybrids.
