Built a dryer monitor a couple years ago with Arduino, but felt like plc with HMI would be a better long term solution.

I don't know much about Grain. The industrial automation stuff is like big kid Legos. I guess arduino kind of is too but I don't know it very well. One nice thing about PLCs is that they are rugged and ready to go out of the box with everything running on 24v or 120v with outputs big enough to run some contactors with no interposing relays. You pay a lot more though, even for the cheap stuff. The box below around 1500 in parts.

This is the finished box. I usually get the zip link breakout cables but didn't this time. Kicked myself for it about halfway through. Oh well.
