Wi | Props to you guys for working with Arduino, I don't have the patience for it. Looking forward to seeing the results though, sounds like a fun project.
I had an impromptu control project this weekend, started writing (ladder) yesterday and finished debugging tonite maybe 10-12hrs of time looking at a screen. Nothing crazy, 167 rungs/subrungs and 189 user tags in the program plus setting up an HMI with alarm logs, email alerts and remote access(smartphone app). Only five discrete inputs, four discrete out and one 4-20mA input. Just runs a manure scraper off an encoder wheel and senses obstructions (cows) as well as other faults. It was way more than an arduino, but less than the part to fix the crappy existing setup and it has more functionality than the exisiting one.
Building the panel tomorrow.
