Subject: RE: Alcohol on low carb diet

Pittsburg, Kansas
Good information.

Better to avoid it for the sake of your liver (fructose and alcohol goes directly to the liver to be processed bypassing normal digestion).

But an occasional drink is not a deal breaker. The first six months or so on my dietary change I would have a couple ounces of rum in a diet Dr Pepper pretty much daily, and I lost weight like crazy. So it did not kill my diet.

But in the interest of giving my fatty liver a rest and getting my internal organs in better shape after being stuffed with viseral fat for years, I eventually weaned myself off of most alcohol and all artificial sweetners.

That said, we are going out tonight to a pretty fancy place for a really nice dinner with some fantastic friends that are residents down here. Wife and I will sure have at least one glass of wine. Will be the first in over a month.

John
