Charlie horse from the alcohol? Or low carb?

When a person is on a high carb diet, the body retains more fluid and with it salt and minerals in the fluid. When a person goes low carb excess fluid is flushed out and with it some of our electrolytes. You can use a higher salt diet on low carb compared to a high carb diet.

Salt, magnesium and potasium are essential minerals in the body (along with calcium but most people get enough if they eat any dairy at all) that many people are low or deficient in.

Salt will often cure the problem. If not try the other two minerals.

Wife had leg cramps for years. She still will if she cuts out her mineral supplements. Otherwise she is fine now.
