Reality speaks: Not all lenders will share financial information so a big thank you for being so transparent. Your results are not surprising. Farmers continue to focus on production(sometimes no matter the cost) and "how can I farm more acres". When low production years happen, financial deficiencies will be exposed. I know several lenders and the same theme has been said since 2013: My best clients make financial management and marketing a priority. Just look at the AgTalk forums: Nearly 400,000 threads for Machinery Talk and 50,000 for Market talk. There needs to be less focus on how to adjust the staw chopper on your S680 combine, and maybe more focus on how to make an accrual income statement or knowing what your working capital is. I hope someday that when talking to a group of fellow producers about marketing and financial management I dont get the deer in headlights look.
