1. Tools - Especially if they are used for yardwork.
2. Appliances
3. Anything that was on sale
4. Anything bought with a gift card
5. Anything that you received reward points on (credit card)
6. Used items - exemption for antiques that she collects
7. If it isn't wrapped - tossing it in a big Fleet Farm bag and zip tieing the top closed doesn't count
8. Something that you will end up using or consuming
