I think you bring up a really important point. The scales may be a motivator for some, and a disappointment and discouragement for others. Maybe one size does not fit all?? I think the idea behind only weighing weekly is that some people may get discouraged if they see weight gains when weighing more frequently. So I think it depends on the person and what motivates/discourages them as to how often they should weigh. If you dread getting on the scales and get depressed when they don't tell you what you want, maybe better to not weigh so often so that the next weight will be a positive experience. But In your case the scales actually motivate you to do better. I step on the scales quite often and find it interesting that I can bounce around what appears to be my equilibrium weight of around 185 by three pounds either direction. My wife on the other hand is once a day or less. Some promote taking measurements rather than using weight. John |
