West Central MN | It sounds like you are mocking Dorgan, but he is spot on with the Hydrogen proposal.
It is actually being developed in several forms right now. I know one major utility plans on producing the hydrogen with both wind tubines and solar power and storing it for use during high peak times. The hydrogen will be burned in a generator which will produce electricity.
Alot of scientests think that Hydrogen powered vehicles are the future so of course this would be another use for the hydrogen.
Utsira, a small island off of Norway has been using two wind turbines which produce hydrogen which is then ran through a fuel cell. It provides for all of the power needed for the island. This has been in operation since 2004. | |
