It loses its sweetness after picking. Some types are worse than others. A lot of what we get in Minnesota in our off season comes up from Florida. It’s probably a week old by the time it gets bought and ate. I won’t buy it.
You pick yours right from the field and eat it. Can’t get any fresher than that!
