For your responses. I love this site for “the good ones” . You help my education of things I would have never known.

Is there a basis in the sweet corn or canning corn business? Long term grow contract? Won’t ever make me a dollar bill... just curious. Thanks Spence

The price of sweet corn to the grower is kind of set by the local grain corn basis. The processors know they need to bid just enough to keep guys from growing grain instead.

AFAIK there aren’t any long term contracts, but there are a lot of growers that are regulars and supply a predictable acreage base for the processors every year.
