West Kentucky | I don't doubt you will see some sort of response on the soybeans foliar feeding -- but, I highly doubt it will do much for soil fertility, and I doubt even further that any of this proves to be economical. The math just doesn't add up.
I'm absolutely not trying to be negative or down Mark, because he seems like a really good guy with a lot of knowledge -- but, I think somewhere along the line the calculations that Chris and NASA were pushing got majorly skewed.
Even IF they try pushing some claims that their products improve microbial activity in the soil so substantially that it just unlocks all of the bound resources -- I'm still not sure the math makes sense.
I do still think there is merit to foliar applications of nutrients, but ONLY as a supplement to proper soil health & fertility, and to compensate or alleviate a deficiency or plant stress.
It makes perfect sense in my head that given a PERFECT environment, including weather, a plant could maintain health and produce great yields by itself with adequate soil nutrients availablability. But, if anything happens, whether stresses from weather or nutrient binding in soil, I can see how spoon feeding via foliar feeding could be beneficial. |
