Northern WI | Eric, I'm not finding many good photos time now, but we have aerial seeded rye/oats/barley ~1 Sep the last four years into corn and always had a great catch (note: Check Local Listings; I'm up here in Northern WI by Santa's Workshop & the polar bears).
Some of the aerial seeded rye from 2018 was so good in my transitional land I left it alone this year for a grain crop and then in August we'll be planting a clover crop for seed and forage in 2020.
I also frost seeded oats, barley, & rye into future soybean ground this spring and that seemed to catch very well; I think I'll be frost seeding oats and barley into all future corn and soybean acres in the future. But truthfully my biggest "win" is simply drilling rye post corn or soybean harvest. No matter how late or how cold, I always seem to have rye in the spring. It's almost awe-inspiring.
