Mid Michigan
Purple top turnips broadcasted with a spreader. About 1-2 lbs to the acre. Cost a couple bucks a pound and the seed is so small it can start growing as soon as it rains. In fact if a guy were spreading some fertilizer at the same time he could probably have it mixed in at the co-op and spread it at the same time. As long as the fertilizer didn't damage the turnip seeds. Never done it that way so I wouldn't know. As far as spreading turnip seed a small spreader on the back of a quad going 10 mph doing 30 ft at a time would probably be the quickest most economical way to do it. Tiny seeds about the size of a grain of sand but grows great. And you can be a hero when you deliver all those delicious turnips to your friends and family!
