SW OH
Everything is air operated. Huge shoes inside the clutch drums with band brakes on the outside. There is a bundle of 1/4" nylon air lines going into the cab that must be 6" in diameter.

As far the bucket goes they seem to be pretty tough. I dropped the bucket from 60 feet once on land. When all the clutches and brakes are properly adjusted they will not hold when cold. There have been several people trained on this and the biggest problem is the drag cable. Not sure why but it is always wet and cutting through the edge of the bank so i guess the sand causes abrasion. It rarely breaks at the bickett. If it breaks in the middle the whole cable has to be replaced. I ran it for a few hours one day and kept forgetting to release the drag brake while lifting the bucket. I was told it has the power to break something if the 2 pull against each other.
