I beg to differ,i bet none of those who replied have ever cleared one hundred acres of trees, you would be there FOREVER with an excavator buy a D8 cat to knock it down and THEN get a root rake for the cat and then get an excavator to help clean up ,,,, for trees smaller that four inches get a shulte or degelman 15 foot rotary mower and level them with that after that you need a big and heavy disc like a rome or alteen,,,,,,,, Been there ,,,,done that


I’m with dzluvr on this one. Excavators are great for trees against a fence or for houses where you need to dig out foundations but for a hundred acres your gonna need to pile it up or you’re gonna have a boatload of piles to burn. A skid steer ain’t big enough to make big, tall piles that burn good.
