Thanks to everyone for all the info. I will still be searching for info on his final resting spot. Once again I wish I would have tried harder when I was younger and there were more relatives still alive.Even my father, a WW2 vet would not talk about it.


One story that was told to me was that parents could have had the body shipped home at families cost. My Grandparents were very frugal and if they would wait until after the war the gov would ship the body home at gov expense.

One other thing that I learned was that he was 35 years old and was my Great Grandmothers only support after her husband was killed in a farm accident in 1924. He was not married. He was the youngest of ten children. He was drafted, and I found it strange he was not defered from draft. After his death the farm was sold that my Great Grandparents had homesteaded.
