SESD | The over production is exactly the problem, we were starting to see a market correction from lowered expected production. Now there will be more acres, though many may not be that productive due to the weather, and just having those acres is a factor in market trade. That may lead to lower prices, which wont take a lot of downward movement to wipe out any per acre advantage that the payment would give. Many people seem to think there is a guaranteed 50, 75 or even 100 payment coming, in reality the first payment isn't even actually guaranteed. Each round will have a review done to see how trade affects the markets and could vary greatly county to county. | |
