Hey Triple Nickel, something just occurred to me.  I planted a farm to corn on June 16, 2008.  (Easy to remember, it's my parents wedding anniversary.)  It didn't have to be corn, I was done with all my other corn.  It was fall chiseled cornstalks, it was supposed to get planted to beans, but conditions had gotten really good after a spell of mud and I decided to roll the dice on some really late corn.  It was a gorgeous picket fence stand, and yielded about 140 bpa.  Off the pace of earlier corn that year, but far from terrible.

December 2008 corn futures closed at $7.65 on June 16, 2008.

Just for some of those asking about what sort of incentive really makes somebody want to plant June corn.
