Liberty, MO | We did it several years ago 6x36 planter, 4x36 corn head, end rows usually 4 down, 2 rows back, 4 down 2 back, field rows were usually ok, but once in a while, backed out, moved over took 2 for a little bit, backed up got the other 2 and continued. This was back in the mid to late 1970’s, dad planted with a 1600 Oliver with a 543 planter.
In my last few years before retirement I appreciated the extra capacity of the 12 row planter with a 6 row corn head, worked great for a one man operation, with wife on the grain cart. | |
