If you got straight rows or gradual contours, you will be fine with a 12 row planter using markers. But I would look at a 16 row if possible. Also there are 12 row cornheads out there for about the same as an 8 row. I have seen 1293s in the low teens. The issue is not getting a deal bought, but getting rid of your equipment for a reasonable price in a timely manor.
