I too have zero sympathy for the weak French people.. if it wasn’t for the US they wouldn’t still be a country...

There is nothing wrong with pride in your country but the reality is that the US didn’t win WWII. The US played a part in it just like many other countries and it took a combined effort of all of us to be able to win it. Being the last one to join doesn’t mean the others failed or were weak. It means they were fighting while other countries watched and didn’t have as many resources to fight with. The reason we in North America could fight is because our factories and countries were far enough away from the battle that they didn’t get destroyed and we could continue building the equipment needed to support the front line throughout the war. We should be very thankful our combined effort stopped it, for the most part, before it came across the ocean onto our soils. We got to fight on other countries soils and the damage from war mostly stayed there. One of the major reasons we advanced so rapidly after the war is because we didn’t have to rebuild a destroyed country. We were lucky, not stronger.

As I said, there’s nothing wrong with pride in your countries contribution to the war but it is the Allied Forces that won the war, not the US.
