Been watching that this afternoon.

Bad deal.

They aren’t sure they can save the towers still, it would look like the main church is a shell that won’t be stable enough to save. Beyond rebuilding and reusing some of the rock.

First stones were laid in 1162, that’s an old building.

Surprised the scaffolding pipes have lasted so long in the heat. They felt the building would start falling down in 10 years, so had started this large rebuild of it.

Was just reading some twitters on Facebook on it, the social fabric of our world is sure interesting, some very poor but still funny gallows humor as tradgity is happening.

Someone responded with only, “Holy smoke!” Which is perhaps about as short and appropriate as one can get?
