Should be better off, you are not asking much out of them.
What do your calves weigh a month before you normally sell them? That is what they will weigh if they are a month younger and you sell them on the same day.
Personally I would keep them till the first sale of the year. Calves are always hot that sale and you have an additional year before you have to pay tax on the profit.
