SW Ohio
i am 45 minutes due east of you. here is my opinion---mother nature is in charge and can trip you up at any time but in general i like beans first as early as single digit April (actually have done March 25 once) IF, IF it is dry and warm and predicted to stay warmish. Corn could go at that time but a cold snap will set back corn more so than beans, and wet will affect them both but more so corn than beans. I like my corn to jump out of the ground--means warm soil and not too wet not too dry, beans are more forgiving when conditions are not quite good enough except for wet planting, that hurts my beans more than what comes later. Having said that I tend to wait for above average good conditions and do corn first and then a few beans and then finish corn but in my case I can do the whole crop in just a few days for each so I like to spread it out a little-diversity in dates-can be half wrong or half right.....
