The rubber on the bottom is not going down hard enough to seal off.
1. There's a nut on top of plunger to adjust down pressure.
2 the faucet part is made to unscrew. Then the rode will pull out should have a rubber on the end. Replace rubber.
I think you missed the last pic. It shows the hydrant broken off flush with the concrete.
To the OP. Unfortunately, anything you do to blank it off will be dependent on the seal underground holding tight. You could try the various epoxy and sackcrete methods mentioned, but I would still plan on digging it up when weather/conditions allow. |
