Croswell, Michigan | Probably 25 years ago my dad thought we needed to put this hydrant next to this waterer when we put it in. We never did use it and today I could hear the water pump running and this is what I found. Fortunately I was able to just shove down on it and it shut the water off but I need a permanent fix. This pen only has a few cattle in it but every time they rub on it I’m sure it will cause a problem. I would REALLY like to fix this without sawing any concrete. I am thinking about cutting everything off flush with a cutting wheel in the cordless grinder and filling the pipe with as much epoxy type filler as I can get into it. I am hoping I will harden and not let the rod move keeping any water from ever flowing into that pipe again.
Any other ideas?
