NW Iowa | That is really neat with all great finds when you were kids. Sister in law is in Raleigh and she always raves about how awesome it is to be two hours from the beach and two hours from the mountains. Unfortunately I didn't get down to Suffolk. I started up in Hopewell at Grant's Headquarters. Unfortunately it was during the government shutdown so couldn't get into the Petersburg battlefield. Worked my way out to Appomattox and saw a lot of great country and sights along the way. Like how just about every country road is paved and in good shape. Not the case in NW Iowa/NE Nebraska. Wanted to drive by Dave Hula's farm when I was in the Hopewell area but never had enough time. Ate at the coolest place though in Hopewell, K&L BBQ. Felt a lot like home. | |
