Anderson County Kansas | When they rot out it's like having a funnel down into the ground. The tuber at the top is like the top of the funnel, then the tap root which is very small goes down in the ground a long ways. When we first started planting them I figured since the tuber grew out of the ground they weren't doing a lot of good. Then I took a spade and dug down beside one. The narrow tap root wen down the two feet I dug and I still broke it off. | |
