Who said anything about chevy c50s? We haul all our grain that goes to the bins with two Freightshakers and a Ford tandem. So do other guys in the neighborhood. Grain carts and semis are popular too.


You are the one telling everyone they shouldn’t be running a semi if it only runs for a month, but then you said they need some kind of trucks, but now you seem to think c/50’s aren’t good enough. So tell us already, what is everyone is supposed to run? Old tandems?

I went to semis because in the long run they’re cheaper to run. I suspect that most everyone that runs semis has switched to them for the same sort of reason, even if they sit a lot.

Everyone hiring harvest trucking is simply not an option unless the truckers have a large fleet with some portion of it idled seasonally. Someone needs to have excess capacity to get harvest done on time, and either way farmers are going to pay for it, so they might as well own some of it.
