NE SD
We had a similar situation a few years ago. Cow in head gate, pulled the calf. She wobbled out and finally laid down but couldn't get back up. Had vet out and he said she must have pinched a nerve in her neck when she was thrashing around in the head gate. She was down for a couple weeks, slowing gaining in getting back up. We would fill a feed tub so she could drink, would get up on her front knees to do that. She would lay so the calf could nurse but we couldn't get close because even not able to get up, she was ready to eat anyone who came close and the calf never did figure it out so he was a bottle calf and when she was able to walk well enough to get into a trailer she went down the road. Baby got grafted to another gentle momma that lost her baby.
