Central Kansas | One thing that has helped me if your chute is big enough, use a bar behind and don't catch the head. Seem to stand better. Made a chute couple years ago that sides all swing away with a self catch head gate, I never use the head gate. On a side note, since I built that chute, put it in small she'd, once I pull calf, leave it right behind mother, swing side gate open and let cow out and leave. Have had way less trouble with heifers finding and claiming calves. Just my experience. Good luck. | |
