Yes you can take the side cover off in the tractor make sure its very clean every where on the side. If the snap rings come off you usually find a piece in the filter big one on the right side is a suction filter any thing goes wrong ends up in the filter most of the time. I just pull the throttle back in road gear if its pulling and you down shift its ok if its in a hard deceleration that's when it put pressure on the low snap ring. The 2nd gear snap ring come off by grinding it in gear not using the transmission brake or its not adjusted.
