Scranton | With the subsidized crop insurance, its silly to not carry at least nominal rates. Right or not, I choose mine based on what premium I am comfortable paying at the end of the year if we don't have a claim. So, for me, I usually end up under $10 for each for crop and hail insurance. Haven't collected on hail for more than a decade...almost two decades. Crop insurance...I collected three times my total premium on one field of 42 bpa soybeans this past year.
