So I live in a area we're it is all no till. Why do you have to till? I know it is wet, but if you just give it time it will dry out. We have tilled ahead of our corn here and it looks better but never out yields the no till. We get dry though and that is we're no till shines. If the whole corn belt would no till and the yields would be as bad as everyone makes it sound corn price would be higher and you would probably net the same or more.
Maybe I'm crazy to think like this but direct seeding I think can work everywhere with the right planter or seeder set up.
