southern MN | It sounds like the bulk of his clients are growing $10,000 to 25,000 an acre crops where a lot of consulting and fussing and testing dollars can get paid off with a small increase in yields.
Or operate many 10s of thousands of acres and can afford some toying around with some acres here and there for long term improvements.
Any which way, seeing some different ideas and goals and gaining some knowledge was Certainly worth the time.
Watching farming change from owning most of your land and renting a little before the 1980s, to now the goal of renting the entire county and owning only the land your house and shop is on has seemed to me to be a step backwards in time to poorer times for farmers, but I guess trends like that come and go over the centuries. This probably doesn’t belong in this thread, but your comments jogged it out of me again.
