SWMN | I always move backwards about 10-15 feet when they start to tip but that isn’t very safe if you are cutting bigger trees in a grove. Now I run back and hide behind another tree if there is one to get behind.
One time I just backed up 10- 15 feet and after the tree fell I had my stocking hat taken off by a 1 1/2 branch. The tree I was cutting was dead which makes them more dangerous and in a grove also adds to the danger. The tree bent a smaller tree down and some dead breaches went on the smaller tree and when the small tree sprung back up it propelled the branches way up in the air and I had no clue it was comming. So that is why I try to hide behind something. A hard hat could also help. | |
