I don’t know how you could come up with a 5% yield decrease with numbers you gave but more equipment doesn’t always solve all problems. Bigger planter maybe bigger tractor, small fields bigger planter may not make as much of a difference? Just always blown away how much equipment everyone has for acres. Last spring was really wet but could only plant part of some farms at a time. Needed more tile , not bigger equipment. Buying a cheap big planter is not always so cheap after you get done going thru it. It take us 7-8 days to put our beans in and always kind of liked that they were spread out a bit. If you can pick right 3 days that 5% would be right. I just never know what the optimum is until fall.
I realize your job is a difficult with the 4 day swing so you have different issues.
