| I planted 160 acres in a 20 hour day with a 30' box planter. That was terrible and tending is a pain. Now I can relax and plant 200 acres in 10 hrs. Planter holds 160 units of seed. I would recommend hyd and wing down pressure be on all central fill planters. I always thought pinch rows were yield robbing which is why we waited, I feel, a long time to go to a central fill. I would say it's 3-4 times the planter. I can plant all day essentially without stopping.
I only put one pro box (2 bushel boxes) in 23 rows. I figure I picked up 4 hrs a day planting just by not stopping, backing up to the tender, tending getting cleaned up back to the spot where I was at in the field etc etc.
I can also pull the new planter faster because I can keep it in the ground with all the weight and hyd down pressure. Before when the boxes got light I had to slow down in tough dry notill conditions.
