NE Nebraska | OP here. Just finished remote session with my Carbonite service. They were able to get that service back up and running. They said the problem with my computer is a corrupt user file. It could be a prior user update didn't install properly or left things in a bad state. Or could be a hard disk issue although nothing showed up under event viewer. He said when things go to the user temp folder things aren't installing properly because it gets the message I don't have the proper permissions. His suggestion was to take it to my local computer guy and have them create a new user profile while logged in as built in administrator. | |
